Divine Mother, Mother of Earth
Embracing all with your glory
Filling every leaf, every blade of grass
With your essence, your love

Calling from the ancient place of knowing
Within the wildness of every heart
Reflecting beauty of spirit, of silence, of peace
With the mirror of your purity

How is it for you
When we tread heavily upon your soil
And take from you without gratitude
For all that you bestow?
How does it feel
When your streams are choking
And your breezes carry
Polluted seeds of our ignorance?

Do you cry silent tears
That nobody sees
When your fish lay dying on the sand
And your animals no longer roam the forest?

And your birds still sing
And your flowers still open
And your waves still dance upon the shore
But for how long?
